Final Portfolio

Image
Creating my final portfolio was a great experience. It was extremely helpful to learn how to use InDesign because I think it will be a beneficial tool to have in the future. It wasn't too hard to create the actual portfolio, but making sure everything stylistic looked appealing was the harder part. Overall, I am very happy with how my portfolio came out.

Animation

Image
For my animation, I decided to animate my collage. The hardest part was trying to make it look realistic, it was hard because I couldn't make the paddle move back and forth, and wasn't sure how to make the water move. Overall, it was fun to learn but I do not think that animation is in my future!

Collage

Image
For my collage I chose the song lyric Somewhere on a Beach by Dierks Bentley. I took a picture of a beautiful beach and added some of my favorite things to do while at the beach. Making sure the lighting matched and adding shadows in appropriate places was the challenge of this assignment. Making sure the selections were precise and that the images meshed together seamlessly was my ultimate goal. Orignial Images:

Magazine Cover

Image
For my magazine cover, I decided to take a Florida beach approach. I used a picture of the beach as the background, cut out a picture of me with sand dollars as the main image, an acai bowl, and weights as secondary smaller images. My magazine would feature things like best beach snacks, and workouts to get in shape for summer! Making this cover was a lot of fun. I used stroke and glow around the images on top of the background to get them to pop. Original Images:

Self Insertion

Image
For my self-insertion, I put myself in a lovely resort pool in Hawaii. I have always longed to take a trip to Hawaii so I thought this was the perfect opportunity. I placed myself in the pool out of the shadows of the trees and added a shadow underneath my tube. I also tried to make it look like my bottom foot was underwater. Overall, using the selection tools in photoshop didn't seem to hard, the worst part was trying to find a picture and place to insert me. Original Photos:

HTML Coding

Image
For this assignment I chose to code the apple logo. The hardest part about this was the bulge on the left side of the apple. I had to change it from a quadratic to a bezier curve a few times. <!DOCTYPE HTML> <html> <head> <script> window.onload = function() { var canvas = document.getElementById("myCanvas"); var context = canvas.getContext("2d"); ////////////////////////////////////// start below this line ˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇ //stem// context.beginPath(); context.moveTo(500, 15); context.quadraticCurveTo(375, 25, 378, 149); context.quadraticCurveTo(500, 149, 500, 15); context.fillStyle = "black"; context.fill(); context.strokeStyle ="black"; context.stroke(); //apple// context.beginPath(); context.moveTo(605, 205); context.quadraticCurveTo(500, 125, 378, 175); context.quadraticCurveTo(275, 125, 175, 205); context.bezierCurveTo(116, 245, 116, 405, 175, 475); context.quad

Vector Image

Image
For my vector illustration, I chose to use an image of me from my recent trip to Colorado. While this project overall was a challenge, the hardest part was the facial features, hair, and vest pattern.

Exquisite Corps

Image
In my exquisite corps, I made Fabio in a futuristic world. Since his head was a robot I saw it fitting. The background is a city with a rocket ship flying by because that is his preferred way of travel.

Final Logo

Image
I decided to make my logo very simple by sticking with the "G" for Greenway, and adding the palm tree to show that it is a company that has to do with landscaping and outdoor designs. I chose the two different greens to contrast each other. The brighter green on the palm tree pops against the white background and the darker green inside the letter G. The idea was to make the logo much simpler than the previous logo. I wanted this new logo to be more iconic and visually pleasing. Original Logo:

Caligramme

Image
This is my caligramme of the state of Florida. I grew up in Florida so I thought it would be cool to outline it with Florida and The Sunshine State and then inside showcase different major cities within the state.

Lululemon Athletica and Athleta are both brands that sell workout clothes. While Lululemon caters to both men and women, Athleta is strictly for women. Both companies logos can frequently be seen with no writing, just the symbol itself when displayed on clothing and storefronts. I love that the Athleta logo is purple and depicts a pinwheel like flower. It has a playful mood as though it is getting you excited to go workout. The Lululemon logo, in contrast, is much more bold. The red color reminds me of strength and determination, it has a "you can do anything" appeal. I feel that both logos are trying to reach the same target audience for the same purpose. While I think they are both doing so, I think that Lululemon is doing it in a more successful way. Their logo is more simple and unmistakable. Once you associate it with the brand for the first time, it is not likely that you will mistake it for something else. While I think that Athleta logo could easily be mistaken f

Fictional Companies 1/23/2017 1. Greenway Landscape Supply: This is my families company and I would love to come up with a new logo and marketing strategy for it. It is a landscape supply and design company. They sell landscape products, do design work and offer many other outdoor services. 2. Photography by Taylor: I have always been into photography so Photography by Taylor would be a brand for my own photos. I would use it to build up a portfolio of all sort of photos. 3. Sweet Treats: This would be a company like Uber Eats but they would specialize in desserts. It would be one company that makes all sorts of desserts and brings them right to you. 4. SmartLighter: This would be a highlighter that scans what you highlight into your computer. That way all of the important information goes from your book to your computer. 5. Power Up: This product would be a phone case where you could touch your cases together and power would transf
